Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program is to develop in students the personal traits and professional skills needed to perform as competent for career opportunities with clinics, hospitals, urgent care and specialty doctor office. The program provides students with knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, routine laboratory procedures and patient care procedures commonly performed in medical offices.  While also, providing skills with diagnostic testing such as EKG, Venipuncture, pediatric patient assessments, adult physical exams, vast understand of triage and basic pharmacology with injection procedures. This program is designed for learners’ who want to advance their healthcare experience and become a Certified Medical Assistant. This is a comprehensive 10 -week hybrid course.

Students who successfully complete the Medical Assistant course will be awarded Diploma of Completion (Medical Assistant Training). Upon completion of the Medical Assistant training with Elightenment Alabama Learning students will be eligible for the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.

    Medical assistant clinical duties:

    • Prepare patients for examinations
    • Take patients’ medical histories
    • Diagnostic Testing EKG
    • Assist physicians or nurses during exams
    • Collect/prepare lab specimens
    • Perform basic lab tests
    • Facilitate injections procedures
    • Inform patients about medications
    • Remove sutures
    • Change dressings

    Medical assistant clerical duties:

    • Welcome and sign in patients
    • Answer phones
    • Schedule patient appointments
    • File patient records and ensure they’re current
    • Fill out insurance forms
    • Assist and Handle billing
    • Navigate different computer programs and applications

    Admission and Course Schedule

    In order to be considered for admission prospective students must submit the following:

    1. 18 Years of Age or Older
    2. High School Diploma, GED, or International High School Diploma Equivalency
    3. A photo ID
    4. Complete course registration

    Fees

    The following is the break-down for tuition and fees for the Clinical Medical Assistant program:

    Registration Fee: $500

    $500 deposit is due to hold your seat in the program and is nonrefundable.

    Course Credits

    Credits earned in Elightenment-Alabama programs may transfer to some, but not all, learning institutions. Students who plan to continue their education with another should check with that school regarding credit transfer policies. No form of accreditation guarantees that any learning institution will accept credits from any school as transfer credits.
